Could you ask for better weather?!

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

The weather has been astounding this summer!  We can count the number of rainy days on one hand and they were on the weekends or at night!  We love it.

On the down side, the lake is continuing to have E-coli bacteria issues.  Last year the rains got blamed for causing septic systems to overflow.  I don’t know what the reason is this year.  The counts fluctuate greatly and we are taking precautions on the days between testing when the levels are high.  The town is also working at narrowing down the source.

A day on the lake for LCS

We took the Lincolnville Central School kids out on the lake June 4th.  With less than a week before the end of school the kids were in rare form!  With fair weather and unusually warm water there were kids “falling” out of the boats left and right.  It was a good day and we put sixty or so kids into boats for 20 minutes of sailing with several of our board members and supporters coming out to help pilot 3 sailboats.
