Community Program

The Lincolnville Boat Club runs a community program that encourages visitors and locals alike to explore Lincolnville on the pond or on the ocean! Available for use are a variety of small sailboats, rowboats, and kayaks. All of these are ideal for learning and advancing sailing and boating capabilities or for just having fun on the water! We provide all equipment necessary including lifejackets, also a dock and swimming area is located at the launching site. This programming runs from June 26th to August 15th.

How It Works - Four Choices

Sailing Lessons: This program is for beginners and returners alike who want to improve their sailing knowledge. The course provides a total of 1hr. classroom instruction, 1hr. rigging instruction, and 4hrs. sailing on Norton Pond with guidance from U.S. Sailing certified Instructor, Anna Piotti. The course consists of two evenings – Monday and Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00pm and costs $55 per person or $75 for two people! Please contact us at least 48 hours beforehand, as space is limited.

Using Sailboats: LBC allows those with prior sailing experience access to our 420s, Lasers, and Shellback dinghies (proof of knowledge will be tested). These sailboats are available on Monday and Tuesday nights from 4:00 to 7:00pm. $30 per boat, per night. Please contact us 48 hours beforehand, as space is limited.

Renting Other Boats:LBC has a variety of other watercraft: kayaks, wooden rowboats, and a paddleboard. Weekday 3hr. rental (9-12pm or 1-4pm) is $10 per craft. Please contact us 48 hours beforehand.

Open Sailing - NEW THIS SEASON On Friday evenings, LBC will take 3hr. cruises (4-7pm) on our Mariner 19 keeled sloop. Starting from Lincolnville Beach and into Penobscot Bay, this is a perfect chance to learn about larger boats and ocean sailing from U.S. Sailing certified instructor, Anna Piotti. Space limited to 4 people per night. $120 total for the 3 hr. evening. Please contact us at least 1 week beforehand.
